Stemming from a firm belief in the role of the civil society in providing solidarity and support, an initiative was developed by Ms. Tatiana Hamiyeh Itani, Attorney at Law, leading to the signing of an MOU between SANAD and RHUH, in collaboration with “Lebanon Needs” and “The House of Christmas”, to address the mounting needs of Covid patients and their families as the numbers of patients continue to rise and as the pressure on RHUH services and staff continues to mounts.
The aim of this MoU is to help RHUH increase its capacity to serve patients and their families through providing nursing assistants on the Covid wards, upscaling communication channels between patients and their families through the provision of mobile TV monitors in the ICU and Isolation wards, and providing the hospital with necessary medications and supplies, as well as providing psychosocial support to the staff working on the Covid wards as they continue to provide crucial care.
