SANAD Hands over its project: “Establishing a palliative care service: A model for a Lebanese Governmental Hospital-the Rafik Hariri University Hospital”.
The project is under the support of the Ministry of Public Health and in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO) and RHUH.
A closing Steering Committee Meeting was held today at the premises of the Ministry of Public Health hosted by Director General of the Ministry Professor Walid Ammar, attended by Dr. Rasha Hamra, Mrs. Loubna Batlouni from the World Health Organization, RHUH palliative care team and RHUH nursing director and members of SANAD team, as part of the handing over process of the joint project between SANAD and RHUH entitled “Establishing a palliative care service: A model for a Lebanese Governmental Hospital”.
SANAD presented the project outcomes, a summary of the project’s operational and clinical measures, evaluation, main recommendations, challenges and lessons learned throughout the project. The meeting discussion shed light on the progress of palliative care service and main challenges being faced and suggested several ways forward to enhance palliative care in Lebanon.
